The social inclusion of children arriving in Italy in search of a better future lies first and foremost in building a sense of belonging to a community – a journey that involves mutual recognition and getting to know one another through living together in welcoming and empowering spaces, education, participation, opportunities to develop their skills, work and many other areas. Save the Children invites reflection on the importance of synergy between the various stakeholders: institutions, which bear primary responsibility; businesses – which can promote inclusion in the workplace and support initiatives for young migrants; civil society; and the young people themselves, who bring their own experiences and life stories to the table.
