Who we are
Fatarella Daniela

Born in Pisa in 1974, Daniela Fatarella graduated in 1997 from the University of Siena with a degree in Communication Sciences. An expert in Social Marketing, Communication, Fundraising, Strategy, and Planning, between 1999 and 2003 she served as National Director at CBM – Christian Blind Mission, before becoming Marketing and Fundraising Director at Greenpeace Italy.
In 2003 she joined Save the Children Italy, initially as Marketing and Fundraising Director, then as Deputy Director General from 2015 to 2019, and as Director General from January 2020. A key figure in the Italian non-profit and international cooperation sector, she today passionately and courageously leads the largest Italian Non-Governmental Organization committed to saving children at risk—particularly the most vulnerable—promoting their rights and improving their living conditions, in Italy and around the world.
An expert on children’s rights and a spokesperson in national and international media and networks, she raises awareness and inspires through her personal experience in complex contexts from the Middle East to Sub-Saharan Africa and Latin America. She approaches the third sector as a qualified and innovative partner to combat inequalities, implementing scalable interventions in partnership with institutions and the private sector.
