Lupi Maurizio

Maurizio Lupi, born on October 3, 1959, in Milan, Italy, is a politician and manager, currently serving as President of the parliamentary group Noi Moderati – MAIE and leader of the centrist party Noi Moderati (NM). He is the second son of a couple of Abruzzese immigrants, with a father who was a bricklayer and a mother who was a factory worker.
He graduated in Political Science from the Università Cattolica of Milan and began his professional career as assistant to the CEO of the weekly magazine Il Sabato. He later held positions as Marketing and Advertising Director, Head of Press Office, and PR Director at Fiera Milano. In 1994, he became CEO of Fiera Milano Congressi, a position he held until 2013, and from which he is currently on leave.
In 1993, he was elected to the Milan City Council, serving as Vice President and later President of the Urban Planning Commission. In 1997, he became City Councillor for Territory Development, Private Building, and Urban Furniture. He has been a Member of the Italian Chamber of Deputies since 2001, serving as Forza Italia parliamentary leader in the VIII Commission (Environment, Territory, and Public Works) and National Head of the Public Works and Territory Department. He was Vice President of the Chamber in the XVI legislature (2008–2013) and Minister of Infrastructure and Transport from 2013 to 2015.
In 2003, together with Ermete Realacci, he founded the Parliamentary Intergroup for Subsidiarity, which he continues to promote and animate. In 2013, he contributed to the establishment of the New Centre-Right and later Alternativa Popolare, where he was President of the deputies (2015–2018). In the 2022 general elections, he led the unified Noi Moderati list, being elected as lead candidate in both the multi-member district Friuli Venezia Giulia – 01 and the single-member district Lombardia 2 – 05 (Lecco). A registered journalist in Lombardy since 1984, he is married and father of three children.
