Globalization is undergoing a transition from “free” to “fair,” with a new focus on equity, inclusion, and social cohesion. Demographic challenges—such as population aging in advanced economies and migration flows—require new integration policies. Open markets and mobility can foster innovation and help rebalance disparities, but institutional adjustments are needed to prevent growing inequality. Multilateralism must return to the forefront in order to guide this transformation.
