Scocchia Cristina

Cristina Scocchia graduated with highest honors in International Business Management from Università Luigi Bocconi and earned a PhD in Business Administration from the Università di Torino.
She began her career at Procter & Gamble in 1997, holding positions of increasing responsibility across mature and emerging markets until her appointment in 2012 as Cosmetics International Operations Division Leader, overseeing brands in more than 70 countries. From 2014 to 2017, she served as Chief Executive Officer of L’Oréal Italia, leading the company back to growth in a challenging economic environment. From 2017 to 2021, she was Chief Executive Officer of KIKO, implementing a turnaround plan based on product innovation, digital transformation, and international expansion, particularly in Asia and the Middle East.
Since January 2022, she has been Chief Executive Officer of illycaffè. Under her leadership, the company has achieved steadily growing financial results, with record revenues in 2024 (approximately €630 million) and a significant increase in profitability, accompanied by the introduction of employee bonuses as a form of results-sharing.
In 2024, she published her autobiography Il coraggio di provarci. Una storia controvento (Sperling & Kupfer), dedicated to the themes of leadership, meritocracy, and teamwork. In 2024, she was included by Forbes and Fortune among the 100 most influential women leaders, following similar previous recognitions. In 2023, she received the “Marketer of the Year 2022” award from the Società Italiana Marketing and was honored with the “LILT for Women” Award for her contribution to the culture of prevention and women’s leadership.
She is a member of the Board of Directors of EssilorLuxottica and Fincantieri, where she chairs the Nomination Committee. She regularly speaks at national and international events on leadership, inclusion, and management. In 2019, she was awarded the Legion of Honour.
