Who we are
ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND THE FUTURE OF HUMANITY: BETWEEN DIGITAL DESERT AND NEW CONSTRUCTIONS
Sergio Belardinelli, former Professor of Sociology of Cultural Processes, Università di Bologna; Paolo Benanti, Expert in Bioethics, Ethics of Technology, and Human Adaptation; Member of the United Nations New Artificial Intelligence Advisory Board; Nello Cristianini, Professor of Artificial Intelligence, University of Bath. Introduced and moderated by Fabio Mercorio, Professor of Computer Science, Università di Milano Bicocca and Fondazione per la Sussidiarietà
Artificial intelligence is no longer a promise: it is already a force that is reshaping decisions, knowledge, and relationships. Yet there is something machines cannot imitate: freedom, responsibility, and the sense of good. Sergio Belardinelli, Paolo Benanti, and Nello Cristianini engage in a dialogue on the boundary between what humans can delegate to technology and what uniquely defines them. A meeting to understand if, and how, the human person can inhabit the future without giving up on themselves. Because even where everything seems surpassed, there remains an irreducible element from which to begin again.
