President of the Autonomous Province of Trento since October 2018. 

 He has served as the Secretary of the Lega Nord Trentino since 2005 and started his political career as a municipal councilor in Avio. He was elected to the Chamber of Deputies in 2006 and served as a Member of Parliament during the XV and XVI legislatures until 2013. During this time, he held the position of Deputy Head of the Chamber of Deputies and Group Leader of the Finance Committee. 

 In the XVIII legislature of the Republic, which began on March 23, 2018, he was re-elected as a deputy. He served as the Undersecretary of State for Health from June 13, 2018, in the first Conte government until his election as President of the Autonomous Province.
