The conference presents the model developed by the Salesians of Don Bosco and the VIS Foundation for the social and professional integration of third-country nationals, built through international networks and partnerships with institutions, businesses and civil society. At the heart of this approach is the individual, who is supported on a journey between their country of origin and their destination. This journey includes guidance, training, upskilling, international mobility and integration into the labour market, whilst respecting the individual’s freedom to choose whether to leave or stay, always beginning with the strengthening of skills in their home country. This is a win-win approach between Italy and Africa that combines regional development with a response to the needs of the labour market.
