THE LAW OF AI

Organized by Compagnia delle Opere e Gruppo AI Fondazione per la Sussidiarietà

Antonino Rotolo, Professor of Legal Informatics at the Università di Bologna, head of EURAIR; Giovanni Ziccardi, Professor of Legal Informatics at the Università di Milano, expert in cybercrime; Federico Bonomi, co-founder of Asimov AI. Moderated by Erik Longo, Professor of Constitutional Law at the Università di Firenze, expert in AI regulation.

The European regulation on artificial intelligence (AI Act) represents one of the first systematic attempts to regulate the use of AI, introducing a risk-based classification system, transparency obligations, and trustworthiness requirements. For the legal field and professionals, this raises complex challenges: from redefining liability to safeguarding fundamental rights, from managing the increasing complexity of regulations to adapting professional skills. This session aims to offer a structured reflection on the key issues and future prospects currently at the heart of the debate among scholars, practitioners, and institutions.
