Longo Erik

Erik Longo is an Italian jurist, born in Cassino on March 4, 1977. He is an Associate Professor of Constitutional Law at the University of Florence, where he belongs to the Department of Legal Sciences. He has held this position since 2019, following a competitive selection process as part of the Department of Excellence project. Previously, he pursued an academic career at the University of Macerata, first as a researcher and later as an associate professor, gaining solid scientific and teaching experience in public and constitutional law.
He earned his PhD in Constitutional Law from the University of Teramo, with a dissertation on the protection of fundamental rights in the Italian regional system, and holds a law degree from the University of Perugia. His research focuses in particular on fundamental rights, forms of state and government, regionalism, multi-level governance, and the relationship between constitutional law and technological innovation, with a specific emphasis on digital regulation.
He carries out extensive and continuous university teaching, offering courses in undergraduate and graduate programs as well as in post-graduate master’s programs, including courses taught in English, consistently exceeding 350 hours per year. He has participated in and continues to participate in numerous national and international research projects, including European Union-funded programs, and is the author of scientific publications in national and international journals and edited volumes.
