Antonino Rotolo

Antonino Rotolo is Full Professor of Philosophy of Law, Legal Theory, and AI & Law at the University of Bologna. An internationally recognized expert in the fields of law, logic, and artificial intelligence applied to law, he has published extensively in international scientific journals, coordinated conferences and workshops, and participated in research projects at both European and global levels.
He has been a Visiting Scholar at King’s College London, the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), the University of Queensland, and the Queensland University of Technology (Australia), thereby consolidating an interdisciplinary research profile spanning philosophy, law, and computational sciences.
From 2015 to 2021, he served as Vice-Rector for Research at the University of Bologna. He is currently Deputy Head of the Alma Mater Research Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence (AlmaAI), co-lead of the Ethics and Data Governance Board, and co-leader of the Research Group on Societal Implications and Impact at the Italian National Center for HPC, Big Data, and Quantum Computing. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the National Technological Cluster TICHE (Technological Innovation in Cultural Heritage). He is Full Professor of Philosophy of Law, Theory of Law, and AI & Law at the University of Bologna; he is also Head of the Alma Mater Research Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence (Alma AI) and Coordinator of the PhD programme in Law, Science and Technology.
