The 2024 Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to Nihon Hidankyo, the association founded by the Hibakusha, survivors of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. On the 80th anniversary of the atomic bomb, as nuclear threats resurface in the context of wars and conflicts, the Hibakusha continue to bear witness to the effort of building a world free of nuclear weapons and offer us a powerful testimony of peace.
