Federico Vecchioni

He holds a degree in Agricultural Sciences from the University of Florence. After graduating, he worked in Tuscany, revitalising his family’s historic farm, ‘Il Cicalino’, through a technological and managerial approach; today, it stands as a model of diversified management with close links to the market. In 1992, he began his trade union career within the General Confederation of Italian Agriculture, initially as a councillor and president of the farmers’ association for the province of Grosseto and then, from 2004, as president of the national organisation. From 2002 to 2009, he was president of the Grosseto Chamber of Commerce. From 2001 to 2011, he served as a full member of COPA-COGECA in Brussels.

In January 2009, he was elected president of Agriventure S.p.A., part of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group. Until June 2014, he was chairman of Gruppo Terrae S.p.A. He currently serves as a director of Società Consortile Consorzi Agrari – Società consortile per azioni, and of Filiera Agricola Italiana S.p.A., and as vice-chairman of the Accademia dei Georgofili, Italy’s oldest agricultural academy. He is also Chairman of the Board of Directors of Arum S.p.A., Elfe S.r.l., C.D. Filiera S.r.l., BIA S.p.A., Diagram S.p.A. and Rurall. He is Chief Executive Officer of Bonifiche Ferraresi S.p.A. Società Agricola, S.I.S. – Società Italiana Sementi S.p.A., Milling Hub S.p.A., TAI Società Agricola S.r.l. and BF International Best Fields Best Food Limited.

He is Managing Director of Progetto Benessere Italia S.r.l. and a Director of A&D S.p.A. – Food and Dietetics Group, as well as Managing Director of C.A.I. S.p.A.. Mr Vecchioni holds the qualification of Professional Agricultural Entrepreneur (IAP) pursuant to Legislative Decree No. 99 of 2004.
