Pinelli Giorgia

Giorgia Pinelli was born in Scandiano in 1978 and graduated in Philosophy from the University of Bologna. In 2012, she earned a Diploma of Advanced Studies dedicated to “The Teaching of Philosophy: Elements of Didactics” (Interuniversity Consortium For.com). In 2015, she obtained a second-level Master’s Degree in “Disciplines for Teaching – Modern and Contemporary Philosophy” (University of Bologna). Since the 2010/2011 academic year, she has been teaching Social and Family Pedagogy at the Higher Institute of Religious Sciences of the Theological Faculty of Emilia-Romagna in Bologna, serving as a Contract Professor. During the 2013/14 academic year, she was also the holder of the General Pedagogy chair at the same academic institution. From the 2017/18 academic year onward, she has been teaching General Didactics at the same institute.

Since the 2015/16 academic year, she has been the instructor of the course in General Pedagogy for the interdiocesan Theological Studies (STI) program in Reggio Emilia.

In the field of university training for secondary school teachers, she has held teaching positions in two TFA courses promoted by the University of Bologna, from 2011 to 2015.

She is the author of the book “Until God Calls. Adult Transformation and Religious Conversion.” This volume analyzes the dynamics of religiosity throughout adulthood and its transformations, with particular attention to the phenomenon of conversion. The book is provocatively aimed at encouraging autobiographical reflection among students, teachers, educators, trainers, religion teachers, and scholars of religious sciences.

Additionally, Giorgia Pinelli has collaborated with Michele Caputo in the writing of two volumes:

– “Pedagogy of Artistic Expression”: This book focuses on the “pedagogy of artistic expression,” a recently established academic discipline, exploring its complexity and the various artistic and disciplinary perspectives involved. The volume aims to serve as a starting point and a stimulus for research and practice in teaching and training.

– “Art, Religiosity, Education. Explorations and Pathways”: This work offers reflections spanning music, theater, dance, and children’s drawing, complemented by pedagogical contributions. Its goal is to demonstrate that aesthetic and religious dimensions are central to the educational process, representing a quest for meaning that is both present and transcendent—an essential component of wholeness.
