Chiodo Gianluca

Gianluca Chiodo, 45, began his legal traineeship immediately after graduating in Law at a law firm in Padua specialising in administrative law. At the same time, he started working with the IPAB Pia Fondazione V.S. Breda of Padua, a historic institution managing a nursing home for the elderly, a facility for people with disabilities and a nursery school, where he served as Head of the Assets, Tenders and Contracts Office.

At the end of 2002 he joined the social cooperative Giotto, which operates in several areas of intervention, from the creation and maintenance of green spaces to cleaning services, from car park management to waste collection, from call centres to reception and concierge services. All these activities are aimed at integrating disadvantaged people into the workforce, particularly people with disabilities and prisoners.

Within Cooperativa Giotto, he serves as Head of the Legal Area, with specific expertise in relations with public administration. Over time, due to his role and the particular importance of the cooperative’s activities, he has been involved in various initiatives and also in institutional relations. He focuses in particular on issues related to the awarding of services to social cooperatives; upon appointment by the Minister of Labour and Social Policies, in 2011 and 2012 he took part on this topic in the working group set up at the Authority for the Supervision of Public Contracts together with the national federations of social cooperatives. At the same time, he collaborates with the Alleanza delle Cooperative Italiane to develop proposals for reforming regulations on prison labour.

On matters related to the awarding of services to social cooperatives, he has been a speaker at conferences organised by Legacoop and Federsolidarietà Confcooperative.

Since 2012 he has been a member of the Executive Board of Compagnia delle Opere Sociali. Since 2011 he has taken part, within CDO Opere Sociali, in a study commission on welfare.

Since 2012 he has been a lecturer in the “Managerial Training Course for Social Cooperatives” organised by CDO Opere Sociali, focusing on contractual relations with public administration and the system of guarantees.

In previous years, he also taught at Forema Unindustria of Padua and at the training institution ENAIP on tenders and administrative law.

Gianluca Chiodo is married and has two daughters aged 7 and 4.
