Elena Beccalli

Elena Beccalli has been Rector of the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart since 1 July 2024 and is a full professor of the Economics of Financial Intermediaries. Since 2025, she has been President of the Federation of European Catholic Universities (FUCE) and Vice-President of the International Federation of Catholic Universities (FIUC). She conducts research in the fields of banking, finance and responsible finance, collaborating with prestigious international academic institutions, including the London School of Economics and the University of St Andrews. She heads the University’s Research Centre on Cooperative Credit.

She is a member of the Scientific Committee of the Centesimus Annus Pro Pontifice Foundation and of the Italian Bishops’ Conference’s expert group on socially responsible investment. In 2024, Pope Francis appointed her as a consultant to the Dicastery for Culture and Education. She served as a senior expert at the Finance and Humanity Village as part of The Economy of Francesco. She was also involved in drafting the document *Mensuram Bonam*.
