For a few years now, urban regeneration has been a key topic in the debate about the future of our cities. In the future urban development could not and should not be carried out by using new soil but by renewing the existing urban fabric, which is often made of old and polluting buildings that are unsuitable for the new ways of living and working in our cities. The pandemic made this whole rebuilding process, that implies also the quality of public spaces and infrastructures, even more pressing. It is crucial to turn this crisis into an opportunity to discuss about the quality of life in our cities.
