As Cardinal Pizzaballa states in an interview with the students (a long video excerpt will be presented at the end of the exhibition), “within this sea of hatred, wars, pain, and fear, we must be able to see beautiful realities, to seek out those who devote their lives to something beautiful: they are today’s risen ones, telling you that there is still light.”
This is the “strange logic” of prophecy that the exhibition embraces.

Each group of students went in search of “impossible,” yet real, stories of peace: individuals with direct, on-the-ground experience of war and its consequences, capable of witnessing to a lived experience of peace in the midst of differing political, cultural, and religious contexts.

These are faces that war tends to erase, but which must instead be recovered, observed, and presented to everyone as a concrete possibility of hope.
From Palestine to Haiti, from Rwanda to Myanmar, the exhibition presents ten testimonies from the protagonists of these stories—“artisans” of a peace built “from the ground up,” starting from the heart of man, as indicated by Pope Leo XIV.

In a global scenario marked by a third world war “in pieces”—whose key data are presented at the beginning of the exhibition—these testimonies offer a precious opportunity to reflect on the conditions for peace. There is nothing more urgent than this.
