Exhibition concept developed by Emmanuel Exitu and Nicola Lonato

The aim of the exhibition is to give space to the “prophecy for peace” that Pope Francis has persistently called for in recent years, by retracing stories of so-called “impossible peaces” — experiences that blossomed within contexts marked by ongoing conflicts or by the deep wounds these have left behind.
The decision to begin from the stories and faces of the protagonists is inspired by a statement from Don Tonino Bello, quoted by Pope Francis, which says that war begins the moment we forget the face of the other.
