The universalistic welfare system, with health services, assistance to the most vulnerable and needy, education for all, regardless of income, can no longer guarantee a quality response to citizens’ needs. The 2024 Talk of the Foundation for Subsidiarity addresses the issue by looking at the most concrete aspects, such as the care of the elderly, nurseries, and reception. The first episode outlines the context starting from the assumption that welfare is the basis for the integral development of a country and must be preserved not only for the well-being of citizens but also because it contains the source code of public happiness and democracy.
