TRAVELLING WITH THE BOYS OF KAYRÒS, PORTOFRANCO AND PIAZZA DEI MESTIERI

The exhibition proposes an immersion in the universe of youth, echoing questions, expectations, wounds, desires that animate him, and documenting some attempts to listen and respond to tensions that inhabit it. 

The path develops starting from the narration of the stories of a boy and a girl: ten large paintings stage their story rendered in poetic form by the writer Daniele Mencarelli and accompanied by images by the illustrator Giacomo Bettiol. These are stories that tell of difficult childhoods, school failures, falls and attempts to restart, disillusionment in front of an adult world who seems unable to grasp the questions that rise from the hearts of young people. The meeting with some educational realities – Kayròs, Portofranco and Piazza dei Mestieri – opens glimmers of light and gives a glimpse a path in which the human, with all its contradictions and desires, can be embraced and enhanced, in which children and adults accompany each other on the path of (re)discovery of their own value and their talents.
Afterwards, a large projection proposes in a video, made by Luca Mondellini with the considerations of some young people who in these three realities have found the possibility of a human, scholastic and professional rebirth.
They have found places where you can finally feel “at home”. A change in the look when you come to perceive that one is important for the other, that “alone is not enough”, as the title of the exhibition says. At the end of the path, the three realities allow visitors to meet in a space of dialogue, free and unstructured, animated by some young people and educators who serve in them.
