Tahani al-Jibali, president of the Cairo Meeting Foundation has left us. A leading personality in Egyptian public life, Tahani al-Jibali was the first woman to be elected to the lawyers' union and then the first female judge in Egyptian history, to later become vice president of the Constitutional Court.

«A great promoter of interreligious dialogue», the president of the Meeting Bernhard Scholz reminds her, «very active in defense of the rights of women and Christian minorities, as well as the author of various books on rights. In the Meeting she saw a model to inspire her also for her country. We remember her with gratitude in our prayer to the common Father».

Here is the text of his speech at the 2013 Meeting "RELIGIOUS FREEDOM, THE WAY OF PEACE".

At this link, instead, we propose various interventions published by the information site IlSussidiario.net that tell what Meeting Cairo was, of which Tahani was a large part.

Also significant for understanding her work and more generally the "phenomenon" Meeting Cairo, some interventions that appeared on the clonline.org site: You Have Brightened Egypt (clonline.org)Egypt Meeting: in the heart of the heart of Cairo and Cairo - It's the Meeting, beauty.
