Rimini, 7 January 2026. “The Love which moves the sun and the other stars. The final verse of Dante Alighieri’s Divine Comedy is the title of the 47th edition of the Meeting for Friendship Among Peoples, which will take place in Rimini from 21 to 26 August 2026. Today, the manifesto of the new edition was presented.

In a time marked by fragmentation and solitude, by the urgent need for peace and unity that shapes our societies and our personal lives, this year’s title seeks to highlight an original dynamic: that force which attracts and harmonises, of which Dante is both poet and witness. «With this title,» observes Bernhard Scholz, President of the Meeting, «we want to rediscover the origin and destiny of the world entrusted to us, and of our very existence.»

This title, therefore, is not only a literary quotation, but a provocation addressed to the present. «We must ask ourselves,» Scholz continues, «whether we are dominated by an indecipherable and often cruel chaos, or whether it is possible to recognise, in a reasonable way, a good from which and for which everything was generated and continues to be generated even now, in our present day. A good and a love that do not impose themselves, but respect our freedom, indeed enhance and sustain it so that it may become fruitful.»

The 47th edition of the Meeting aims to verify whether this force that moves everything can be the key to reading reality in its deepest and truest dynamic, and whether it can become a source of reconciliation and openness to new forms of social life, sharing, education and culture. A love capable of opening new horizons for those who wish to propose a technology, an economy and a politics more consistent with the real needs of the human person.

«The final verse of the Divine Comedy,» Scholz concludes, «invites us to a new beginning that is possible for everyone and that will be at the heart of the next Rimini Meeting».
