The sixth stage of the Road to Meeting 2025 brings us to the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross, among ancient codes and Byzantine manuscripts, where one of the most fascinating exhibitions of Meeting 2025 is taking shape – “LIGHT OF LIGHT. Nicaea 1700 Years Later.”

In 325 A.D., in Nicaea, bishops from across the empire gathered to resolve a controversy that seemed merely theological, but in truth struck at the heart of existence. If Christ is not truly God, then our hope of being sons is an illusion. The Arian heresy was the temptation to reduce the Mystery to human proportions. But if the difference between us and God is merely a matter of degree and not of nature, then where does our hope go?

The exhibition offers a historical, theological, and spiritual journey through the events surrounding the Council of Nicaea in 325. The setup will immerse us in an atmosphere from 1700 years ago, centered on a work of art that will literally contain all the words God has spoken to humanity. Like the Christians of that time, we too will become aware that God “is” Father and not merely someone who “acts” like a father. A truth that transforms our outlook on the world, placing being sons and love at the center of everything.

This exhibition will be much more than a historical reconstruction. It aims to help us rediscover a truth that frees us in the present and enables us to build, with ever-new bricks, in the existential and social deserts of our world.

In the video, Fr. Giulio Maspero, professor of Dogmatic Theology at the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross and curator of the exhibition, shares some previews with us.
