Giuseppe Tripoli

Giuseppe Tripoli has been Secretary General of Unioncamere since 1 January 2016.
In 1982, he graduated in Law and immediately began research work in the Philosophy of Law departments at the universities of Catania and Rome. From 1984, he also contributed to the establishment of the School of Public Administration of the Chambers of Commerce, thus beginning his professional career in the fields of training and research.
From 1992 to 1996, he served as Managing Director of C.I.S. S.p.A. Subsequently, between 1996 and 1999, he was Deputy Secretary-General of Unioncamere, whilst from 1999 to 2001 he held the same position at Confcommercio. In 2001, he was appointed Secretary General of Unioncamere, a position he held until 2009.
From 2009 to 2014, he was Head of the Department for Enterprise and Internationalisation at the Ministry of Economic Development, where he focused on growth strategies and the international expansion of the Italian manufacturing sector. Between 2014 and 2015, he served as Director-General for Internationalisation Policy and Trade Promotion at the same ministry.
Throughout his career, he has also served as Ombudsman for SMEs, consolidating his commitment to the development and protection of Italian small and medium-sized enterprises.
