Nang Swe Swe Aye

Nang Swe Swe Aye was born in Lashio, Shan State, Myanmar, and grew up in the village of Kehsi, in the Loilem district, with her four siblings. She earned an MSc in Development Studies from the Institute of Economics in Yangon and a Master’s degree in Agricultural Sciences from Yezin Agriculture University. She also attended an international program in India on participatory watershed project management.

Since 2007, she has worked with the AVSI Foundation in Myanmar, where she currently serves as Country Representative. After experiences with IRRI, FAO, and UNDP, she found at AVSI the opportunity to grow professionally and contribute to local development. Despite the challenges posed by the political situation, she continues her humanitarian work with passion.
