Graduated in economics at the Bocconi University, Milan, he joined AVSI in 1996. He started has a referent for Eastern Europe projects, to become soon Projects Area Manager and later Executive Director. In July 2013 he has been assigned by AVSI’s Board of Directors the responsibility of Secretary General. In 2015 the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation appointed him as a member of the National Council for Cooperation and Development, in representation of civil society organizations and other non-profit entities.

The dozens of missions he makes every year to Africa, the Middle East, Asia and Latin America, the constant direct collaboration with large public donors (the European Union, USAID, Development Banks, the UN system), businesses and multinational profit companies, various expressions of civil society and state and local institutions, enabled him in recent years to promote with AVSI innovative development projects in different areas, projects that meet the great challenges posed by the current reality (the issues related to refugees and migrants, education , health, urban development, gender equality).
