Salini Massimiliano

He was born on March 11, 1973, in Soresina. He attended the lower secondary school at “D. Manin” high school in Cremona, and the upper secondary school at “A. Racchetti” high school in Crema, where he obtained a classical high school diploma. 

 He graduated in Law from the University of Milan, with a thesis in Constitutional Law on the right to education. During his university years, he was involved in student representative activities. He was elected to the Academic Senate and later appointed President of the Student Conference and member of the Regional Committee for the Coordination of Lombard Universities. 

 From 1998 to 2000, he was a member of the staff of the President of the Lombardy Regional Government, where he worked on regional policies related to economic and productive activities. Starting from 2000, he worked as a project manager at the company “Faber srl”. From 2006 to 2009, he was involved in Multiutilities as Vice President of Società Cremasca Servizi SpA, and from 2007 as a board member of LGH Linea Group Holding. He was also appointed to the board of directors of Linea Ambiente SpA within the same group. 

 In the June 2009 local elections, he ran for the presidency of the Province of Cremona as an independent candidate supported by a center-right coalition and won in the first round. 

 He ran in the 2014 European Parliament elections in the North-West Italy constituency and was elected. He joined the parliamentary group of the European People’s Party. 

 He is a full member of the “Transport and Tourism” Committee, the “Industry, Research and Energy” Committee, and the Special Committee on “Financial Crimes, Tax Evasion, and Tax Avoidance”. 

 In May 2018, he was appointed rapporteur for the new space regulation within the framework of the upcoming financial programming for 2021-2027. 

 In the 2019 European Parliament elections, he was re-elected, ranking second only to Silvio Berlusconi with 37,000 preferences.
