Sabatucci Ranieri

Ranieri Sabatucci has been the European Union’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar since 2020. Ranieri Sabatucci was born in Rome in June 1960. He obtained an M.Sc. in Agricultural Economics from the University of Perugia in 1986. His professional career includes: From 1986 to 1989, he worked at the Italian Volunteer Service. From 1989 to 2008, he served at the European Commission. From 2008 to 2016, he worked at the Pacific Division and the South-East Asia and ASEAN Division at the European External Action Service (EEAS) in Brussels, Belgium. Since 2016, he has served as European Union Ambassador to the African Union in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. He was appointed European Union Ambassador-designate to Myanmar on 1 September 2020.
