Rubini Sergio

Sergio Rubini, actor and director.
He was born in Grumo Appula (BA) on 21 December 1959. In 1978, he moved to Rome to attend the National Academy of Dramatic Arts, which he left after just two years.
He was officially and cinematically launched by one of the greatest masters of world cinema of all time – Federico Fellini introduced him to the critics in Intervista (1987).
In 1990, he made his directorial debut with La Stazione, which earned him the David di Donatello and the Nastro d’Argento for Best New Director.
Giuseppe Tornatore, meanwhile, cast him alongside Roman Polanski and Gérard Depardieu in A Pure Formality(1994). In terms of his filmography, he has collaborated with Giovanni Veronesi, Alessandro D’Alatri and Fabrizio Bentivoglio throughout his career.
In 2018, he starred in Pippo Mezzapesa’s Il bene mio and Giovanni Veronesi’s Moschettieri del re.
He teaches film acting at the National Academy of Dramatic Arts. He plays the piano and is a great theatre enthusiast.
