Pontremoli Andrea

Andrea Pontremoli joined IBM in 1980, assumed as a simple maintenance engineer he pursued his career until he was appointed as President and CEO of IBM Italia in 2004.
In October 2007 he left his role as President and CEO of IBM Italia and accepted a new challenge, alongside ing. Giampaolo Dallara as a partner at the Dallara Automobili and assuming the position of Managing Director and General Manager.
Since November 2007, he is Director of the “Executive Master in Technology and Innovation Management” at ALMA Graduate School, University of Bologna. Since April 2008, he is in the BoD and in the Executive Committee of Barilla S.p.A.
Since May 2012, he is Lead Independent Director at the Brunello Cucinelli S.p.A.
In 2004, the University of Parma awarded him the Honoris Causa degree in Computer Engineering for the competence gained over the years of managerial activity and for the constant commitment to the technological development of the territorial realities.
For some time, Pontremoli is part of the Confindustria, Assolombarda and Assonime joints. Along with the association of Viale dell’Astronomia is also a member of the Confederal Technical Committee “Innovation and Research” and the “Innovative and Technological Services” Board. Additionally, he is a member of the Council of Relationships Italy and USA and is a member of the Aspen Institute Italia.
On 2 June 2006, he received from the President of the Republic of Ciampi the honor of Grand Officer of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Italy.
From January 2017 Andrea Pontremoli is an external member of the University of Parma’s BoD.
From April 2017, Andrea Pontremoli is the chairman of the Motorvehicle University of Emilia Romagna (MUNER), a strongly promoted association from the Emilia-Romagna Region, created thanks to a synergistic connection between universities and companies in the Italian motor valley.
