Pomodoro Livia

Livia Pomodoro graduated in Law with full marks, cum laude and mention from the Members of the Degree Committee and she is entered into the judiciary in 1965. She studied at Geneva at the Centre Masaryk, winning a scholarship on human rights. She was President of the Court of Milan until April 2015, and previously she held the position of President of the Juvenile Court of Milan and Head of Cabinet of the Ministry of Justice.
She currently holds a number of positions, including:

• President of “Milan Center for Food Law and Policy”, Association legally recognized established by the Lombardy Region, the Municipality of Milan and Chamber of Commerce of Milan (CCIAA) as an international research center on the theme of the right to food.
• President of the Cultural Association ONLUS “Spazio Teatro No’hma Teresa Pomodoro” and, as part of the theater, she is President of the Jury of the International Prize “Il Teatro Nudo di Teresa Pomodoro”, which has the patronage of the President of the Republic and the accession of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
• Member of the Board of Directors of Intesa San Paolo S.p.A.
• Member of the Executive Board of the Italian Touring Club.

Finally prolific is also her activities like publicist and writer. Among her major publications it is important to highlight the numerous texts and prefaces to books related to family and social issues. In 1988 she released the text for the new Code of Criminal Procedure for Children. She has published books “A quattordici smetto” (2004) and “Rispettare l’altro. Beati quelli che giudicheranno se stessi” (2014); She is the author of juridical manuals and she is co-author of the Handbook of family and juvenile law. She has recently written with Antonio Bettanini the volume volume “Expo 2015: un’eredità carica di futuro” (L’Unità). For many years she headed the database on rights of the child and the rights of the family (De Agostini).
