Pizzol Giampiero

Giampiero Pizzol, originally from Romagna, is an actor and writer of plays, musicals, monologues and fairy tales.
In the world of cabaret, following his Walter Chiari Award in 1994, he brought his comic character, the Friar of Montecucco, to “Zelig Off” in 2004 and to other radio and TV programmes.
For children’s theatre, he has written over fifty theatrical fairy tales for various Italian and foreign companies, including I Musicanti di Brema, winner of the 2004 ETI Stregatto Award. Together with composer Alessandro Nidi, he created musical works such as A piedi scalzi-Edith Stein, Teresa de Jesus, la Rosa Bianca, and C’era una orchestra ad Auschwitz. He won the Festival del Teatro Sacro with Il Vangelo visto da un cieco in 2009 and in 2011 with Lazzaro vieni dentro.
Notable publications include: five titles in a series for the publisher Giunti: l volo delle rondini, Un pizzico di sale, Il principe pittore, Ali di farfalle, La pecora arrabbiata. Per Itacalibri: Un uomo di nome Francesco, Antonio dei miracoli, Giuseppe il falegname, Il senso dei cinque sensi, Parsifal. Then Strade di parole (Corsare), Natale bambino (Coccole Books), Manolo e il dottor Pampuri, Maria Bambina (Piccola Casa editrice), Il cavallo King (Cartacanta), plus other titles for a series by Mimep Editrice in Milan: Il mio nome è Pietro, Matteo ragioniere di Dio, Piccolo grande Paolo, Il Vangelo visto da un cieco, I due di Emmaus, L’albero di Zaccheo, Fratelli vivi and Grazie dottor Pampuri. With the publisher Ares, he then published Quell’asino di un bue, A come Amore, Io sono Giuda, Trittico per Maria and Teresa di Lisieux.
He has worked as a screenwriter in collaboration with Otello Cenci on the recent Manalive productions Manalive L’Uoo vivo by Chesterton, Thomas More by W. Shakespeare and Midnight Barabbas by Lagerkvist, presented at the Rimini Meeting, and on the film La Sorpresa, dedicated to Father Olindo Marella. He works regularly with the artistic ensemble Compagnia Bella
