Diego Piacentini is the Extraordinary Commissioner for Digital Agenda Implementation of the Italian Government.
He started the new activity in August 2016: he decided to work for two years freely for the Italian Government, giving his contribution to the digital transformation of the Public Administration.
At present he is on leave from work in Amazon.com, where he has been working for sixteen years as Senior Vice President International. In Amazon he also was member of the executive team and responsible for all the international retail operations in Europe, Japan, China and India.
In 1987 he joined Apple and in 1997 he was promoted General Manager and Vice President of Apple Europe, in Paris.
Before joining Apple Computer, he worked in the financial management of Fiat Impresit in Italy.
He is in the Board of Maasai Association, an organization supporting educative and health initiatives in Kenya; he is also in the Unitus Seed Fund, an investment fund, with headquarters in Bangalore and Seattle, which invests in innovative startups India.
Diego Piacentini is member of the Advisory Board and a mentor of Endeavor Global.
He got the degree in Finance in Bocconi University of Milan and he was awarded the price “Bocconiano” of the year in 2010.
From April 2017 he holds the position of “Digital Champion” in the European Union.
