Occhiuto Roberto

Born in Cosenza on May 13, 1969, Roberto Occhiuto was confirmed in October 2025 as President of the Calabria Region. He holds a degree in Economics, is a registered journalist, and an entrepreneur in the wine and high-end publishing sectors. He served as General Manager of the Calabrian television group Media TV.

His political career began in 1993, when he was elected City Councillor in Cosenza with the Christian Democracy party. He entered the Regional Council in 2000 with Forza Italia, becoming the youngest regional councillor of the party, and in 2005 joined the UDC, serving also as Vice President of the Council. In 2008, he was elected to the Italian Chamber of Deputies for the first time: during the XVI and XVII legislatures with the UDC, and in the XVIII with Forza Italia. From 2018, he served as Deputy Vice President of the Forza Italia group in the Chamber of Deputies, and from 2021 until his election as President of Calabria in October 2021, he was the group’s parliamentary leader.
