Mattarella Bernardo

Born in Rome in 1966, he has been Chief Executive Officer of Invitalia since July 2022.

From 2017 to 2022, he served as CEO of Mediocredito Centrale (part of the Invitalia group). Between 2011 and 2017, he led Invitalia’s Incentives and Innovation Business Unit, managing the portfolio of incentive programs, financial instruments, and support measures aimed at promoting competitiveness and business development. From 2007 to 2011, he held the role of Chief Financial Officer at Invitalia.

From 2000 to 2007, he held various positions in the financial and banking sector, including at Nuova Merchant, NEM SGR, Fondo Nuove Infrastrutture, and Banca Nuova. Between 1997 and 2000, he worked at Mediocredito Centrale, where he was Head of the Organization Office, Head of the Equity Investments Office, and Deputy Head of the Planning and Investments Service.

From 1990 to 1997, he was at Arthur Andersen, serving as Italy Manager for Risk Management and Finance Area business processes, and was responsible for the Rome office in corporate finance projects for banking clients, strategic planning, management reporting, performance control, and process re-engineering.
