Bernardo Mattarella

Bernardo Mattarella was born in Rome in 1966. He has been Chief Executive Officer of Invitalia since July 2022.

From 2017 to 2022, he was Chief Executive Officer of Mediocredito Centrale (Invitalia Group). From 2011 to 2017, he headed Invitalia’s Incentives and Innovation Business Unit, managing the portfolio of incentives, subsidies and financial instruments designed to promote competitiveness and support business development. From 2007 to 2011, he held the position of Chief Financial Officer at Invitalia.

From 2000 to 2007, he held various positions in the financial and banking sectors (Nuova Merchant, NEM SGR, Fondo Nuove Infrastrutture, Banca Nuova). From 1997 to 2000, he worked at Mediocredito Centrale, where he was Head of the Organisation Department, Head of the Shareholdings Department and Deputy Head of the Planning and Shareholdings Service.

From 1990 to 1997, he worked at Arthur Andersen, where he served as Italy Manager for risk management and business process projects within the Finance Division and was head of the Rome office for corporate finance projects for banking firms, strategic planning, management reporting, management control and process re-engineering.
