Manservisi Stefano

A qualified lawyer (University of Bologna and Paris I), he has held numerous posts within the European Union administration and as a policy adviser in various sectors.
He served as Chief of Staff to Mario Monti (Commissioner for the Internal Market, Taxation, Customs Union and Competition), to Romano Prodi (President of the European Commission) and, finally, to Federica Mogherini (High Representative for Foreign Affairs/Vice-President of the Commission).
He served as Director-General for Development and Political Relations with the African, Caribbean and Pacific countries, then as Director-General for Migration and Home Affairs, and finally as EU Ambassador to Turkey. His most recent position was Director-General of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for International Cooperation and Development (DEVCO).
He is currently a Professor at the Paris Institute of Political Studies (Sciences Po) and Chair of the Global Fund for the Prevention of Radicalisation; he is also a member of various think tanks and of the Advisory Board of the AVSI Foundation.
