Luigi Gubitosi

Luigi Gubitosi, born in Naples on May 22, 1961, is an Italian manager of international standing, renowned for his experience in leading major companies in telecommunications, media, and finance. He graduated in Law from the University of Naples, pursued further studies in Economics at the London School of Economics, and earned a Master of Business Administration from INSEAD in Fontainebleau. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and has taught Corporate Finance at LUISS Guido Carli University in Rome, where he served as President from 2023 to 2025.
He began his career at the Fiat Group (1986–2005), holding progressively senior roles including Chief Financial Officer, Finance Director, Group Treasurer, and Chairman of the Board of Fiat Partecipazioni, and serving on the boards of Ferrari, Iveco, Comau, and Magneti Marelli. From 2005, he led Wind Telecomunicazioni as CFO and later as CEO (2007–2011), before taking on senior roles at Bank of America Merrill Lynch Italy (2011–2012).
From July 2012 to August 2015, he was General Manager of RAI and subsequently served as Operating Partner at Advent International (2015–2018). Between 2017 and 2018, he was Extraordinary Commissioner of Alitalia. In May 2018, he joined TIM as Independent Director and was later appointed CEO and General Manager, a role confirmed in 2021.
He is Vice President for Digital Affairs at Confindustria, a member of the General Council of Unindustria, and has held numerous positions in industry associations and corporate boards, including GSMA, Asstel, CSIT, Maire Tecnimont, F2i Sgr, and Cometa. Since May 31, 2021, he has been honored as a Knight of Labour by the President of the Italian Republic, Sergio Mattarella. He is also a member of the Trilateral Commission and has chaired the European Advocacy Committee of the CFA Institute.
