De Pascale Michele

Born in Cesena in 1985, he is married and has two children. His passion for politics started early, during his high school years.

His political career officially began in 2004, when he was elected municipal councillor in Cervia. Here he had the opportunity to actively contribute to the Budget Commission and to assume the chairmanship of the Urban Planning Commission.

In 2011 he was appointed councillor with the following responsibilities: General Affairs, Legal Affairs, Community Policies and Coordination of European Union funding and programmes, Tourism Policies and Territorial Marketing, Events and Image Coordination, Maritime State Property and Port.

From 2013 until 2016 he was provincial secretary of the Democratic Party of Ravenna.

In 2016, a candidate for the leadership of the centre-left coalition, he was chosen by the people of Ravenna as mayor. This position allowed him to implement a great renewal project for the city, flanked by a new generation of women and men, with the aim of improving the lives, of all citizens, through many daily and concrete actions.

In 2016, he was elected president of the Province of Ravenna with delegations to Strategic Planning, Economic and Social Development, and Tourism.

Between 2018 and 2019 he led the National Association of Italian Municipalities (ANCI) for Emilia-Romagna.

In February 2019, he was unanimously elected President of the Union of Italian Provinces (UPI), a position he held until December 2024. In this role he participated in important national tables, including the Unified Conference, the State-City Conference, the Steering Committee for the PNRR and that for the management of the Covid-19 pandemic.

In 2021 he was reconfirmed as mayor of the city of Ravenna, obtaining 59.47% of the vote.
During his two terms as mayor he directly held the delegations for Health Policies, PNRR, Major Infrastructures, Strategic Planning, Participation, Reorganisation of Cultural Institutions, Family Policies.

In 2021 he was re-elected president of the Province of Ravenna.

From 2019 to 2024, he was a board member of Cassa Depositi e Prestiti S.p.A. appointed by the Ministry of Economy and Finance, and he was president of the Social and Health Territorial Conference of Romagna, which exercises the functions of policy, planning, evaluation and supervision in relation to the Azienda USL della Romagna and is composed of all the mayors of the Provinces of Ravenna, Forlì-Cesena and Rimini.

In November 2024, he was elected president of the Emilia-Romagna Region.
