Daniotti Sergio

Born in Milan (Italy) on 28 December 1951.
Scientific secondary school diploma.
Degree in Medicine and Surgery obtained on 22 September 1977 at the University of Milan, graduating with top marks and honours.
Thesis: General pathology on the biochemistry of tumours.
Clinical Pharmacology course at Hammersmith Hospital in London (Prof. Dollery).
Registered with the Medical Association of Florence.
In 1979, he joined the Boehringer Ingelheim Group, working on the clinical development of drugs for the treatment of gastroenterological diseases (duodenal ulcer, ulcerative colitis).
In 1984, he took responsibility for all clinical research and pharmacovigilance for the entire Boehringer Ingelheim Group in Italy, focusing in particular on the development of cardiology and respiratory drugs and therapies for AIDS. In the 1990s, he held a teaching position at the Clinical Pharmacology specialisation school in Pisa.
In January 1999, he became Head of European Clinical Research, and from January 2000 he led Boehringer Ingelheim Italy.
From January 2006 to December 2019, he was a member of the Farmindustria Presidential Committee.
On 9 May 2007, he was appointed President of Anifa (Assosalute) and was re-elected in May 2009, serving until May 2011.
He retired in January 2011.
He is the author of around 60 publications and has taken part in numerous conferences.
He has been a member of the Italian Society of Pharmacology and of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom.
President of the Banco Farmaceutico Foundation and Advisor to the Progetto Sant’Agostino Association of Florence. Since February 2026, he has been President of the Fondazione Banco Farmaceutico ETS.
