Coccia Michela

Michela Coccia is a physiatrist specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of people with neuromuscular diseases, such as Charcot–Marie–Tooth disease (CMT) and Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA). She works at the NeMO Clinical Center in Ancona and is the director of the center’s Affectivity Clinic.
She is involved in multidisciplinary care (rehabilitation, nutritional, and psychological) for adults and children with neuromuscular diseases, both as inpatients and outpatients.
She has held teaching positions, for example in the advanced training course “Management of patients with neuromuscular diseases in pediatric and adult age” at the Polytechnic University of Marche.
She collaborates with organizations such as Fondazione Telethon in research on rare genetic diseases and takes part in outreach initiatives and informational events on neuromuscular conditions.
