Guido Caselli

Guido Caselli

Guido Caselli is Deputy Secretary-General and Director of the Research Centre at Unioncamere Emilia-Romagna. An economist, he has been studying the evolution of production systems and regions for over thirty years, focusing on local development, innovation, and economic and social transformations.

His research focuses on understanding how major transitions are reshaping the future of businesses and communities. In recent years, he has developed an approach that combines statistical analysis with a narrative account of change, with the aim of transforming data into tools for interpretation and decision-making.

His reflections emphasise the value of relationships as the infrastructure of development: the quality of a regional system stems from the network of links between people, businesses, social economy organisations, institutions and communities.

He is the author of numerous studies and reports on the economy and is a regular speaker at conferences, seminars and public events focusing on regional development, innovation, and the future of work and business.
