Calenda Carlo

Born in 1973, Roman, 4 sons.
Graduated in Law with International Law Address.
In May 2013, he was appointed Vice-Minister of Economic Development in the Letta Government with proxy on internationalization and international trade policies.
In February 2014 he was confirmed in his role by the Prime Minister Renzi, who also entrusted him with the responsibility for attracting foreign investment and the direction of the activities of the ICE – Italtrade (Italian Trade Promotion Agency).
His mandate included European trade policy, multilateral relations, OECD and G20 activities, bilateral trade relations, foreign trade promotion and investment attractiveness, credit and export finance , Support for investment projects abroad.
He was a member of the Foreign Affairs Council (and President in office during the semester of the Italian Presidency of the EU Council in the second half of 2014). He was also Vice President of the tenth World Trade Organization (WTO) Ministerial Conference, held in Nairobi in December 2015.
As Deputy Minister he has carried out 32 missions abroad, covering 26 countries. Of these missions, 14 covered government meetings and 18 led trade delegations with business representatives, business associations, organizations for internationalization and the banking system.
He also attended delegations of the President of the Council during his official visits to Mozambique, the Republic of Congo, Angola, Turkey, Chile, Colombia, Peru and Cuba.
From 11 May to 7 December 2016 he was Minister of Economic Development in the Renzi Government.
December 12, 2016 was confirmed in the same position in the Gentiloni Government.
