Brunori Sas

Dario Brunori made his debut on the Italian singer-songwriter scene in 2009 under the pseudonym Brunori SAS, releasing his debut album, Vol. 1, in June – a true collection of Italian songs, comprising simple, straightforward tracks. The album was met with great acclaim from both critics and the public. Exactly two years later, he released Vol. 2 – Poveri Cristi, which proved a surprising success.
In 2012, one of his songs, Una domenica notte, inspired Giuseppe Marco Albano’s feature film. In the same year, he composed the soundtrack for È nata una star?, directed by Lucio Pellegrini and starring Rocco Papaleo and Luciana Littizzetto.
In 2014, he released Vol. 3 – Il cammino di Santiago in taxi, recorded in a convent in Belmonte Calabro with Japanese producer Taketo Gohara: the album debuted at number five on the FIMI sales chart, at number two on iTunes and at number one on Spotify as the most-streamed artist, whilst the eponymous club tour sold out at every venue.

Following a theatre tour entitled Brunori Srl – Una società a responsabilità limitata, which was almost always sold out at Italy’s most prestigious theatres, Brunori released a new single in 2016: La verità went Gold with FIMI and won the Targa Tenco award for Best Song.
His fourth album of new material, A casa tutto bene (Platinum), was released in January 2017 and features the single Canzone contro la paura, which also went Gold, and the track L’uomo nero, which in 2018 won the Amnesty International Italy Award for Best Song for Human Rights. The A casa tutto bene tour sold out the most important clubs and theatres in Italy.

In February 2018, Brunori took centre stage in a new theatrical venture: Brunori a teatro – canzoni e monologhi sull’incertezza, which enjoyed an incredible run of sold-out performances and additional shows. The show was broadcast in prime time on Sky Arte in February 2019.
In April 2018, together with Lorenzo Scoles, Federico Bernocchi and Marco Pisoni, he created Brunori Sa, a television programme broadcast on Rai 3, produced by Ballandi Arts and directed by Luca Granato: a five-part series exploring the desires, fears and contradictions of the middle generation.

The previously unreleased track Un errore di distrazione serves as the soundtrack for Duccio Chiarini’s film L’ospite: the track received a David di Donatello nomination for ‘Best Original Song’ in February 2020, whilst in May 2020 it was also nominated for a Nastro d’Argento, again in the ‘Best Original Song’ category. Brunori was also nominated in the ‘Best Soundtrack’ category for the film Odio l’Estate by Aldo, Giovanni and Giacomo.

In 2019, Dario Brunori returned to the scene with a new single, Al di là dell’amore, released by Island Records and featured on Cip!. The new album, released in January 2020, was preceded by another single, Per due che come noi, which was certified Platinum. The album debuted straight at number one on the FIMI//Gfk chart of best-selling albums and vinyls, remaining at the top of the chart for two consecutive weeks and was certified Gold. A third single, Capita Così, has also been released from the album, following the radio success of the previous ones. Cip! is an introspective, direct and sincere work that Brunori Sas will bring to the stages of arenas across Italy for a 10-date tour produced by Vivo Concerti, kicking off on 20 November 2021, preceded by four summer dates in June and July 2021.

On 1 July 2020, Brunori won the 2020 Tenco Prize for Best Album. Another significant accolade was his win at the 2020 Nastri d’Argento Awards for Best Original Soundtrack for the film Odio l’estate by Aldo, Giovanni and Giacomo.

The summer of 2020 saw him headline a series of Concertini Acustici, special live events in extraordinary locations surrounded by nature, as part of the line-up for some of Italy’s most prestigious music festivals. On 6 September 2020, he took part in ‘Heroes’, the first major Italian live-streamed concert event in support of music industry workers, performing at the Arena di Verona.
