Francesco Botturi

francesco Botturi is a Former Full Professor of Moral Philosophy (since 1990) at the Catholic University of Milan (1995). He served as Vice-Rector of the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart from 2013 to 2017.
He has conducted historiographical studies in the field of contemporary French philosophy and modern philosophy, particularly on G.B. Vico. His research has also focused on anthropology and the philosophy of history.
With his book La generazione del bene (2009), he produced a major monograph engaging deeply with contemporary anthropology and ethics. His most recent book, Universale, plurale, comune (2018), extends his ethical-anthropological reflection into the field of social philosophy.
He directed the Anthropology section of the Philosophical Encyclopedia published by Bompiani, and is editor of the “Moral Philosophy” series for Vita e Pensiero.
He is a member of the Scientific Committee of several academic journals, including Rivista di Filosofia neo-scolastica, Ragion pratica, Archivio di Filosofia, Hermeneutica, Studia Patavina, and Studium.
