Who we are
Elio Borgonovi

He graduated in Economics and Business from Bocconi University in 1969 and served as a senior lecturer, adjunct professor and full professor at Bocconi University from 1970 to 2016. He is a professor emeritus at the same university. He has taught at the University of Parma, the University of Trento, the University of Valle d’Aosta and LUM “Giuseppe Degennaro” . He was Director of the Public Administration, Healthcare and Non-Profit Division at SDA Bocconi from 1979 to 1996 and Director of SDA Bocconi from 1996 to 2002. He founded CERGAS at Bocconi University in 1978, serving as its Director until 2006 and as its President since 2007.
He is the author of numerous works on healthcare systems, including “The Hospital: An Economic and Managerial Approach”, “Planning and Monitoring of Healthcare Facilities”, “Healthcare Management: Science, Rights, Social Responsibility, Efficiency”, “Sustaining Universal Health Coverage: The Interaction of Social, Political, and Economic Sustainability” and “Healthcare System: Issues of Sustainability and Economic Growth”.
