Bergia Maurizio

Maurizio Bergia, 48, married, father of four biological children and foster father of a House-family (composed of 17 people) from the Pope John XXIII Community Association.
Former bank employee, graduated in Science Education and majoring in Religious Studies.
He worked as educator at a day center for people with disabilities from 1994 to 2001.
He served as Councilor for Social Policies of the Municipality of Fossano (CN) from 2001 to 2014.
From 2014 he is the President of the social and agricultural cooperative “I TESORI della TERRA Onlus” of Cervasca (Province of Cuneo), which operates in the production of yogurt and organic quality cheeses and inclusion of disadvantaged subject in social agriculture projects (Educational Farm and center daytime widely used in farming).
He also works in the social cooperative “IL RAMO” as head of the “Emporio Solidale Officina del Possible” in collaboration with Caritas Diocesana.
Trainer for community service projects, and regional training courses for operators of the receiving Community.
Member of the Diocesan Pastoral Council and the Interdiocesan of the Diocese of Fossano-Cuneo and member of the Social Pastoral and Labour Commission since 2008.
From 2015 he is operational supervisor of the Cooperativa Agricola “Cieli e Terra Nuova” of Rimini, which is pursuing the social reintegration of prisoners with Community project in order to reeducate the prisoners (as an alternative to detention prison) in San Facondino Saludecio of Romagna.
