After a weekend dedicated to safety at sea and on the road, the agenda of “Cantiere Futuro” comes alive with themes such as the Olympics, innovation, and accessibility. Expected guests include Minister Salvini, Deputy Minister Rixi, and Minister Locatelli.
The week continues with a busy schedule of events for visitors to the exhibition space of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport at the Meeting for Friendship among Peoples, taking place at the Rimini Expo Centre until August 27.
In Piazza MIT, the heart of the “Cantiere Futuro” thematic pavilion, meetings, debates, and round tables alternate on some of the key issues for the country’s development, in dialogue with institutions, businesses, and civil society.
Here is a recap of past events and the program for the coming days.
What has happened so far
On Friday, August 22, the week began with a panel organized by the Coast Guard – Harbour Master Corps, which featured speakers from the Rimini Sailing Club and certification experts discussing boating safety. This was followed by the screening of a short film created for the 160th anniversary of the Corps.
Saturday, August 23, was dedicated to road safety. The association Ragazzi on the Road brought concrete experiences and testimonies to the Meeting. The morning opened with a discussion about the project, followed by an in-depth session on road safety with Gaetano Servedio (MIT), Simonetta Lo Brutto (State Police), and Raffaele Moretti (UNASCA). In the afternoon, the Minister of the Interior, Matteo Piantedosi, was the main guest of the meeting “Viminale on the Road”. The day concluded with the panel “Subsidiarity in Action”.
Today, Sunday, August 24, the focus shifted to technological innovation with an event by the MIT Smart Road Observatory dedicated to autonomous and connected driving. In the afternoon, “Inclusion-E” was presented, a project that, through SimRacing, allows people with disabilities to participate in virtual competitions.
Upcoming events
Grande attesa per lunedì 25 agosto, giornata interamente dedicata ai Giochi Olimpici Invernali di Milano Cortina 2026. Nel corso della mattinata sarà possibile incontrare gli atleti delle discipline di bob e skeleton.
Alle 15 prenderà il via il percorso “Milano-Cortina Infrastrutture 2026: l’Italia che si muove insieme”, articolato in due tavole rotonde con rappresentanti di Regioni, enti locali, imprese e partner dei Giochi.
A chiudere la giornata sarà la presentazione del progetto ENAC VERSO su sostenibilità e innovazione nel trasporto aereo.
Martedì 26 agosto sarà presente in padiglione il viceministro del MIT Edoardo Rixi. Seguirà l’appuntamento “La sicurezza dei sistemi di trasporto in pillole”, un percorso interattivo curato da Ansfisa. Nel pomeriggio, si terrà l’evento “Una città in cui crescere”, dedicato al ruolo delle infrastrutture come luoghi di coesione. Seguiranno due panel tematici: uno sulla prevenzione degli annegamenti e l’altro sulla città interconnessa.
Infine, mercoledì 27 agosto, nella giornata conclusiva del Meeting, è attesa la visita del vicepresidente del Consiglio e ministro delle Infrastrutture e dei Trasporti, Matteo Salvini. La chiusura dell’agenda di eventi sarà affidata all’incontro “Una città per tutti. Progettare accessibilità, generare libertà”, con la presenza del ministro per le Disabilità Alessandra Locatelli.
Con questo calendario di appuntamenti, il MIT rinnova il proprio impegno a raccontare l’Italia che costruisce, innova e cresce. I prossimi giorni si confermano altrettanto intensi e stimolanti, un’occasione per continuare a condividere progetti, visioni e opportunità per il futuro del Paese.
