“THE LITTLE POOR MAN AMONG THE POOREST – Paths of Hope Beyond the Walls”

Written and performed by: Alessandro Cozzi and Guido Mezzera. Freely adapted from “La ferita, la letizia” (The Wound, The Joy) by Davide Rondoni.

The project was born from the Creative Reading and Writing Workshop “Saint Francis – Paths of Hope Beyond the Walls”, organized on the occasion of the eighth centenary of the death of Saint Francis of Assisi. Created by Associazione Incontro and Presenza ODV within a correctional facility, the program involved a group of inmates in an expressive experience based on reading and writing, inspired by the life and values of the Saint. From this work comes a theatrical piece that combines texts, live music, and stage action, built around “tableaux” that depict the imaginary encounter between an inmate and Saint Francis, transforming the prison cell into a place of reflection, dialogue, and hope.

Direction and musical performance: Walter Muto
Musicians:Angela Lazzaroni, Silvia De Fre.

Work created by inmates of the II Casa di Reclusione di Milano – Bollate.
