It is becoming increasingly clear that humankind cannot tackle major cultural, economic and technological changes with improvised responses or by merely reacting to them. We feel an ever more urgent need for a way of thinking about humankind that enables people to understand themselves and their relationship with the world in an original and creative way, capable of providing a constructive perspective on their endeavours.
