Who we are
“OGNI BENEDETTO GIORNO” – The Sun in concerto
Free admission
An intense performance in which the band will present their most beloved songs, interspersed with monologues, life stories, and moving testimonies. The Sun is a rock band formed in 1997. Before signing with Sony Music, the band had already released four albums distributed in Europe, Japan, and Brazil. In 2004, they were awarded at M.E.I. as the “Best Italian Punk Rock Band in the World”. In 2008, the band decided to compose in Italian and use music to deliver universal values in service of the common good. This pivotal shift emerged through a journey of faith and approach to Christianity. The band has shared the stage with international legends such as Deep Purple, The Cure, The Offspring, Muse, Misfits, and many others. With over 1,000 concerts in 20 countries across Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Central and South America, The Sun is one of the most active Italian bands in terms of live performances. In December 2016, frontman Francesco Lorenzi was awarded by Pope Francis for “his contribution to the development of Christian humanism and its artistic expressions throughout the world.” In addition to their musical activity, The Sun also promotes charitable initiatives, pilgrimage experiences, and volunteer programs.
